Title:Affiliation: Necmettin Erbakan University, Ereğli Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Sciences Talk Description: This presentation will provide a general overview of how artificial intelligence (AI) is used in various fields of education and how it enhances learning processes to become more effective, accessible, and inclusive. It will focus on AI’s potential to offer personalized learning materials for students, support teachers, and facilitate educational processes. Various application areas of AI will be explained through examples, ranging from classroom management to individualized learning plans, language learning, and accessibility tools for students with special needs. Practical examples from Prof. Dr. Hatice YILDIZ DURAK’s TÜBİTAK and TÜBA projects will be presented to demonstrate how AI creates impact in education. Additionally, practical suggestions will be offered regarding the ethical use of AI, data security, and equity in education. Biography: Prof. Dr. Hatice YILDIZ DURAK is a professor at Necmettin Erbakan University, Ereğli Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Sciences. She graduated as the top student in 2009 from Hacettepe University, Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology. She completed her master’s degree in the same field in 2011 and received her PhD from Gazi University in 2016. Between 2009 and 2016, she worked as an Information Technologies teacher in the Ministry of National Education, and from 2016 to 2022, she served at Bartın University. She is currently working as a professor at Necmettin Erbakan University. Prof. Dr. YILDIZ DURAK has taken part as a coordinator, researcher, and trainer in 26 national and international research projects, including 13 supported by TÜBİTAK. In TÜBİTAK 1001 projects, she developed machine learning-based recommendation systems to enhance digital parenting competencies and personalized online physical activity platforms for primary school students. Her research focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and new pedagogical approaches into education and has been published in prestigious international journals. She was listed among the "World's Most Influential Scientists" in the field of Education by Stanford University and Elsevier in 2021, 2022, and 2023, ranking 778th, 256th, and 238th respectively. In 2022, she received the TÜBA-GEBİP Outstanding Young Scientist Award, and in 2025, she was the only finalist from Turkey in the "Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences" category at the Times Higher Education Awards Asia. Title: Talk Description: This presentation will explore the role of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education, focusing on its effective, efficient, and ethical implementation. The session will discuss the potential of AI-driven tools to enhance teaching, learning, and academic research while addressing challenges related to academic integrity, bias, and responsible AI use. Practical examples and research findings will be shared to provide insights into best practices for integrating generative AI in educational settings. Biography: Dr. Olgun Sadık is a faculty member in the Intelligent Systems Engineering Department at Indiana University, where he teaches courses on engineering design, programming, and professionalism and ethics in the engineering design process. Dr. Sadık holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science education and earned his Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Technology at Indiana University. His research focuses on emerging learning technologies and computer science education, including the integration of artificial intelligence in education. Before his current position, Dr. Sadık worked at İnönü University and Middle East Technical University in Turkey, where he taught various courses such as foundations of instructional technologies, instructional design, and programming. In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Sadık is conducting workshops and seminars to promote the effective, efficient, and ethical use of generative artificial intelligence in K-16 education. |

Talk Description: There has been a growing interest in the prevention of academic misconduct and the promotion of academic integrity after the advent of GenAI tools. Relevantly, this keynote session will present the results of the EU Erasmus+ “Facing Academic Integrity Threats (FAITH) Project” which dealt with establishing minimum standards for academic integrity in higher education institutions, preventing misconduct, and supporting those affected by academic dishonesty. The session will specifically make a reference to the ‘guidelines on developing effective academic integrity policies’ and ‘pedagogical materials’ as outputs of the project and provide recommendations for various stakeholders for the ethical implementation of GenAI tools in education. Short Bio: Dr. Salim Razı is a full professor at the English Language Teaching Programme of Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University (COMU), Türkiye. He is the Founder Director of COMU Centre for Academic Integrity. He served as a founder Board member of the European Network for Academic Integrity from 2017 to 2023 and is the co-founder of Asia-Middle East-Africa (AMEA) Integrity. He coordinated the EU Erasmus+ KA2 project “Facing Academic Integrity Threats (FAITH)”. He was awarded the Turnitin Global Innovation Award in 2015 and received the ENAI Outstanding Member Award in 2023. He is an associate editor of the International Journal for Educational Integrity published by BMC part of Springer Nature.
