Title: Talk Description: This presentation will explore the role of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education, focusing on its effective, efficient, and ethical implementation. The session will discuss the potential of AI-driven tools to enhance teaching, learning, and academic research while addressing challenges related to academic integrity, bias, and responsible AI use. Practical examples and research findings will be shared to provide insights into best practices for integrating generative AI in educational settings. Biography: Dr. Olgun Sadık is a faculty member in the Intelligent Systems Engineering Department at Indiana University, where he teaches courses on engineering design, programming, and professionalism and ethics in the engineering design process. Dr. Sadık holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science education and earned his Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Technology at Indiana University. His research focuses on emerging learning technologies and computer science education, including the integration of artificial intelligence in education. Before his current position, Dr. Sadık worked at İnönü University and Middle East Technical University in Turkey, where he taught various courses such as foundations of instructional technologies, instructional design, and programming. In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Sadık is conducting workshops and seminars to promote the effective, efficient, and ethical use of generative artificial intelligence in K-16 education. |
